Collisions on back-to-back days in Battlefords

A spike in collisions in the Battlefords has coincided with the return of winter conditions to the area this week, as emergency crews responded to two separate incidents Monday and Tuesday. The first collision happened at 1:55 p.m.

A spike in collisions in the Battlefords has coincided with the return of winter conditions to the area this week, as emergency crews responded to two separate incidents Monday and Tuesday.

The first collision happened at 1:55 p.m. Monday afternoon at the intersection of 100th Street and 19th Avenue in North Battleford. RCMP and North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services were on the scene, as was WPD Ambulance. According to information from WPD, five patients were seen but did not want to be transported to hospital.

Emergency personnel responded to another collision, this one at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday.

The collision took place at the corner of 100th Street and Territorial Drive. According to WPD Ambulance, two patients were seen and one was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital with what WPD described as minor injuries.

The collision involved two small passenger vehicles, according to NBFES. They reported being on the scene for about 42 minutes with one apparatus and four personnel attending.
