Communities around Humboldt facing SaskTel service outages

More communities are facing service outages as back-up battery power depletes.

SaskTel is reporting that more communities are facing service outages.

EAST CENTRAL — SaskTel is reporting service outages in communities around Humboldt on Nov. 17.

"SaskTel is experiencing service outages in a number of communities due to power outages caused by the ongoing winter storm," a media release from the telecommunications crown said. "Some communities have limited services at this time, and we anticipate more services may fail as back-up battery power depletes if commercial power is not restored."

As of 12 p.m. on Nov. 17, home phone service disruptions include:

  • Englefeld
  • LeRoy
  • Middle Lake
  • Pathlow
  • Quill Lake
  • Watson

St. Brieux, James Smith First Nation and Kinistino is facing wireless phone, internet, and home phone service disruptions.

"SaskTel crews will work to restore services in all impacted communities as soon as highway conditions improve, and it is safe to travel," SaskTel said.

On Nov. 18, SaskTel said that service was restored to the communities.
