DuPont is helping to raise money for the Credit Union CUPlex.
From December 2010 to July 2011 producers will purchase DuPont herbicides at 11 local farm retailers: 80 - 85 per cent of these purchases will be made May to June. The rest will be purchased in the winter.
A portion of these sales will be going to the Raise The Roof! fundraising project. There are six specific products targeted by the program: DuPont Assure II, DuPont Express brands, DuPont Harmony brands, DuPont Refine brands, DuPont Triton brands, DuPont PrecisionPac herbicides. These herbicides cover a wide field of weeds and situations including pre-seed bum-off and in-crop weed control.
Doug Fehr, local DuPont representative, he is glad his company is able to step up to the plate to help boost fundraising efforts.
"As a DuPont representative who has lived here since 1987, I think the CUPlex will be a valuable asset to the community."
Fehr says DuPont also challenges competitors to introduce their own programs to raise funds for the project.
The amount of money DuPont will raise for the project will depend on herbicide sales. They will have a better idea of the amount of money that will be raised at the end of August, Fehr said.
The CUPlex will have a field house, an aquatics center, a curling facility, a performing arts theatre and a outdoor common area.
