Battlefords RCMP responded to 53 calls for service over the time period Tuesday June 13th 6 a.m. - Wednesday 2017 June 14 6 a.m., including but not limited to the following:
3 a.m. Report of a robbery in front of a local off sale motel with what looked like a firearm. A male in his 20s with no shirt on and wearing black shoes, approached a customer outside the offsale. The suspect pointed a firearm at him and took his alcohol that he had just purchased, and then drove off in a grey Dodge Ram 1500. Surveillance was obtained and the matter is under investigation.
5:54 a.m. Report of a 2014 grey Ford Taurus with SK licence plate T0971, stolen sometime overnight from the Cochin area; items also inside the vehicle were a pocket knife, wallet and extra set of keys. Vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.
Police responded to 52 other calls for service including Provincial and Criminal Code Statutes.
RCMP would also like to remind residents to not leave children or pets inside vehicles unattended for any length of time, especially during the summer months, as dehydration and heat exhaustion happen fast.
