Traffic flow was interrupted for about an hour at the intersection of the Highway 16 bypass and Battleford Road beginning at about 12:10 p.m. Family Day.

Battlefords RCMP report five occupants of two vehicles were treated for minor injuries and were expected to be released from hospital by the end of the afternoon yesterday.

According to police, a single occupant and driver of a vehicle that was south bound on Battleford Road and entered the intersection with Highway 16 was removed from the vehicle with assistance from the Jaws of Life.  She is facing a charge under the Traffic Safety Act for driving without due care or attention.

North Battleford Fire Department also responded to the accident, reporting both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene.

NBFD was also called to what they describe as a minor cooking incident just before midnight Monday. Fire crews used a fan to remove smoke from the hallways and the affected suite.
