Flurry of crashes keep EMS busy

Law enforcement were busy last week with three car accidents and one drug warrant execution. On Tursday alone, the WPD ambulance responded to three collisions. The first was at 10:30 a.m., involving a single vehicle on Highway 16 east.

On Tursday alone, the WPD ambulance responded to three collisions. The first was at 10:30 a.m., involving a single vehicle on Highway 16 east. A 44-year-old man was treated and released on scene.

According to North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services, the vehicle had blown a tire and hit the ditch and culvert, ending up on the east bound lane with debris scattered and fluids leaking.

At 6 p.m., a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 4 north and Highway 3 at Glaslyn resulted in one 44-year-old man being treated and released on scene and one 84-year-old man being transported to Battlefords United Hospital in stable condition.

At 9:30 p.m., at the intersection of Railway Avenue and Battleford Road, the final accident of the day resulted in one 16-year-old girl being treated and released on scene and a 35-year-old woman being transported to the BUH in stable condition.

Early the next morning, RCMP executed a drug warrant on a residence in the 1500 block of 105th Street in North Battleford. Police seized marijuana, allegedly packaged for selling, cash, and other evidence of drug trafficking. Two adults were arrested, charges are pending and the investigation is continuing.

Donald Jason Thunderblanket, 41, and Madeline Rose Moccasin, 41, both of North Battleford are charged with possessionof a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. Sec 5(2) of the CDSA

Thunderblanket and Moccasin appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court where they were released from custody on undertakings. Their next court appearanceis scheduled for Feb. 9.
