The Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 155 calls for service between 6 a.m. Thursday, May 7 and 6 a.m. Sunday, May 10.

Thursday

• Complaint of young girls operating a motor vehicle in an erratic manner in the Civic Centre parking lot.

• Report of a group of teens “up to no good” in the 1300 block of 103rd Street. Teens were throwing rocks at parked vehicles.

• Complaint of a white truck being operated in an erratic manner around Moosomin First Nation.

• Report of a suspicious black SUV driving up and down the 900 block of 105th Street and alley.

• Second report of a black SUV and a red SUV at an address on the 900 block of 105th. Complainant advised that occupants of the vehicle tried to kick in his front door without success. Occupants fled scene in their vehicles. Complainant thought they may be gang members but is not familiar with any of them.

• Complaint of loud music on Winder Crescent.

Friday

• At approximately nine minutes after midnight Battlefords RCMP responded to a complaint that a sign was on fire outside a business located just off of 100th Street. The complainant put the fire out but reported this potential arson/property damage to police.

• Noise complaint on the 1400 block of 95th Street.

• Complaint of people driving while impaired on Moosomin First Nation in a purple car. Occupants of the vehicle threw rocks at the complainant’s vehicle.

• Report of two women looking in windows on the 1600 block of 106th Street.

• Complaint of teenagers racing in shopping carts on 17th Avenue being really loud.

• Report of a disturbance at an address on the 1800 block of 101st Street. It sounded like someone was busting windows and walls. Members attended and the suite was empty.

Saturday

• Report of car shoppers in the 100 block of 25th Street in Battleford. Five males were hanging around the complainant’s vehicle.

• Report of two large dogs running loose on 34th Street in Battleford. The dogs were not located.

• Complaint of a man walking on the highway between North Battleford and Battleford in a bright orange bunny hug weaving in and out of traffic.

• Complaint of a man walking around outside the fence at an address on the 300 block of 23rd Street West in Battleford. man was screaming that he was going to kill someone unknown who he was yelling at. Man’s descriptors matched the above call for service but he was not located.

• Report of mischief to the Ukranian Catholic Church on 108th Street. A light bulb was smashed.

• Complaint of a group of kids smashing a shopping cart into a business located in the 1700 block of 100th Street. Shopping carts located but the kids were gone on arrival.

• Complaint of kids on lunch hour break smoking drugs in an alley in the 1300 block of 98th Street. The kids leave garbage and waste behind and the complainant is constantly cleaning up after them.

• Theft of gas from the Sweetgrass First Nation Store. Three men and one woman in a beige Bronco pulled up to gas pumps and put $10 of gas into vehicle then tried to fight the complainant before taking off without paying for the gas.

• A woman called 911 to inquire about medical advice for a cyst on her face. The caller was reminded about proper usage of 911 and that she should make an appointment with her doctor in regards to the cyst.

Sunday

• Complaint of a suspicious person outside an address on Maymont Beach, Cochin.

RCMP also responded to several calls of intoxicated people in public. Other investigations included 14  911 Act calls, eight false alarm calls, two Child Welfare Act reports, six Mental Health Acts reports, one Litter Act report, two items lost and found, three persons reported missing, one Fire Prevention Act report, five Liquor Acts reports, 19 traffic related occurrences and 28 Disturbing the peace or municipal bylaw related occurrences.
