Battlefords RCMP were called to deal with a hostage situation involving a firearm at about 4:20 a.m. Sunday.
Police say they were advised a man with a firearm was holding occupants of a residence on the outskirts of North Battleford hostage.
Battlefords Municipal and Rural RCMP detachments established aperimeter around the residence. Members entered the residence and arrested a 29-year-old man and a firearm and other weapons were seized.
The man is in police custody and is facing numerous firearms and other charges. Hewill be appearing in Provincial Court inNorth Battleford March 18.
No one was injured in the incident.
