KINISTIN — A Kinistin man faces charges in connection to an incident where a man broke into homes and assaulted the residents.
Seven people were assaulted. One victim had to be airlifted to Saskatoon to receive further treatment for his injuries and has since been released.
“All of them received medical care to certain degrees,” said Cpl. Mike Benjamin with the Tisdale RCMP. “We had two ambulances out on site. One ambulance transported this male to Melfort hospital who was then airlifted out. The rest received treatment on site by either the ambulance or they didn’t have serious enough injuries to require treatment.”
Tisdale RCMP say they were notified about the incident Jan. 16 at approximately 9 pm. The police said those calling reported the man was intoxicated.
Police located and arrested the man without incident.
The man has been charged with three counts of break and enter and commit aggravated assault; three counts of break and enter and commit assault; one count of assault causing bodily harm; and five counts of utter threats to a person. He is in custody and will appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Jan. 31.
