EAST CENTRAL — A local MP is self-isolating after learning a person he met with has COVID-19.
Randy Hoback, the MP for Prince Albert, met with David Beasley, the executive director of the World Food Programme, on March 11. Beasley has since tested positive for the virus.
"Following the onset of a sore throat, Mr. Hoback contacted the Prince Albert Health Office, who then instructed him to be tested for COVID-19," said a media release from his office. "Mr. Hoback has been told to expect his test results on Tuesday, March 24. Until then, he will continue to self-isolate with his wife Jerri until health officials say otherwise."
The MP's office encouraged citizens to practice social distancing.
