Man, 18, appears in La Ronge court on weapons offences

An 18-year-old Grandmother’s Bay man appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on firearms charges. Pacey McKenzie, 18, is charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and careless use of a firearm.

An 18-year-old Grandmother’s Bay man appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on firearms charges.

Pacey McKenzie, 18, is charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and careless use of a firearm.

Stanley Mission RCMP arrested McKenzie June 7 after they had several 911 calls alleging an intoxicated man was pointing a firearm at several people.

Stanley Mission and La Ronge RCMP responded to the scene. When police arrived they searched the area and found McKenzie at a nearby residence. He was arrested without incident.

McKenzie was released from custody with conditions on June 9. He appeared in court on Aug. 11 and is now scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court Aug. 31 to elect how he wants to be tried.
