On Aug. 29, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Onion Lake RCMP received the report of an adult male who have been shot near a business on the east side of the Onion Lake First Nation.
The 35-year-old adult male suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital in Lloydminster for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Officers received information that the individuals allegedly responsible for the shooting fled the scene in a silver four-door car. The silver-four door car was later located engulfed in flames in the Maidstone area by the Maidstone RCMP.
At this time, it is unknown exactly how many people were involved in the incident and where they are travelling to. Onion Lake RCMP continue to work diligently to locate and arrest the individual(s) responsible.
Onion Lake EMS, Lloydminster RCMP, Maidstone RCMP and Turtleford RCMP all attended the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
