Man transported to RUH with serious facial injuries

The Battlefords RCMP responded to 29 calls for service between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11.

RCMP attended calls in relation to intoxicated people and other incidents including one false 911 call, two false alarm call, two lost and found items, one Mental Health Act investigation, nine traffic related occurrences and five disturbing the peace municipal bylaw related occurrences.

Tuesday

• Complaint about icy road conditions on Railway Avenue at 100th Street due to snow fall. City crews were on site when members attended and assisted clearing vehicles. A sander was brought in and the problem was rectified.

• Complaint of vehicles stunting in the Frontier Mall parking lot at approximately 11:13 p.m. four vehicles were seen driving in the parking lot erratically almost hitting the complainant’s vehicle.

RCMP responded to 36 calls for service between 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Police arrested three persons for alcohol related offences. Other incidents included one Missing Person reported, who was quickly located, six traffic investigations, four disturbance complaints, one nuisance 911 call, two child welfare Investigations, one bylaw complaint and three traffic accidents.

Monday

• Shoplifting complaint made shortly after 11 a.m. at a business on Carlton Trail after a review of surveillance footage from the weekend. Remains under investigation.

• At 2:45 p.m. theft of a quad reported from a business on 99th Street, believed to have occurred between Feb. 6 and 9.

• Call at 7 p.m. on the 1000 block of 110th Street of a man requiring medical attention. Subject located in a residence suffering from serious facial injuries. He was transported to RUH in Saskatoon for treatment and remains there in good condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Police have not yet been able to interview the man and will be attempting to do so in the near future. At this time no witnesses have been located who have been able to provide an account of what occurred.

• A 25-year-old man was arrested on a Canada wide warrant for a parole violation on 18th Avenue in North Battleford. Located shortly after 10 p.m. and taken into custody without issue.

• Police dispatched to a complaint of break and enter near Cochin at 11:40 p.m. During course of investigation, a 16-year-old youth was identified as a suspect and located near scene in violation of his release conditions and arrested. He is currently charged with three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and three counts of breach of a youth probation order and made his first appearance on Tuesday. The investigation is still ongoing. 

Tuesday

• A 31 year old woman was arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving and driving over .08 after a vehicle stop in the Cochin District shortly after 2 a.m.

• A 32-year-old man arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, after a call at 3 a.m. of an unknown man knocking at a house door on 100th Street and refusing to leave. Accused was located very intoxicated and in violation of his no alcohol clause. 

• Report of an alleged sexual assault on 100th Street made shortly after 4 a.m. Victim was transported to hospital for treatment and the investigation remains ongoing.
