BACKGROUND: Aug. 23 - The Spiritwood and District Health Complex remains open for emergency care during the ongoing phone, cell phone and internet service outage affecting the Spiritwood area. Those experiencing a medical emergency can seek assistance at the Spiritwood Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC) at 400 1st East Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or at the Spiritwood Ambulance Care at 650 Highway 3 East, which will be staffed by medical first responders 24 hours for the duration of the outage. If those medical services are not available, residents should go to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at 300 Main Street.

However, the Saskatchewan Health Authority is also advising those who access health services in Spiritwood and Leoville that some services that depend on phone or internet access may be temporarily disrupted during the outage. This includes, but is not limited to, medical appointments online or by phone and booking of new home care and public health appointments. It is not known when phone and internet services will be restored but patients/clients can rebook once these services are restored to the area.
