The Platinum Anniversary Draw for $5,000 in Battleford Union Hospital Foundation's $100,000 Lottery took place Friday.
The winners, Orest and Bernadette Demyon, were excited and grateful to win, but noted "We have always supported the foundation's lottery because it goes to a good cause. Now we have 5,000 good reasons that we did buy tickets again this year!"
Orest has a long time history with BUH as he was employed here for 46 years as a member of the maintenance crew.
The next ticket cut off date for the Grateful and Thankful draws is Friday, Sept. 19. This will be for two draws of $5,000 each.
The $100,000 lottery is over 75 per cent sold out and the 50/50 add-on winnings are over $25,000 and climbing..
The $100,000 Cash Lottery is BUHF's largest fundraiser and proceeds from this year's lottery will provide funding to purchase medical equipment for the operating room, palliative care, medicine and surgical floor.
