One almost expected game show host Bob Eubanks to walk in the door and put in an appearance at North Battleford city council Monday.
There were enough newly-married councillors at the meeting to make up a contestant pool on The Newlywed Game.
But if anyone was playing a game Monday night, it was Mayor Ian Hamilton, whose challenge was to make sure he correctly got everyone's names right.
The meeting was the first one in which Kelli Saemann was identified by her new married name Kelli Hawtin.
She is using the name Hawtin from now on, following her marriage to Mitch Hawtin this summer. Monday was her first council meeting since returning from their honeymoon.
Ryan Bater was married in a ceremony Saturday. Bater and his new wife, Heather (nee Munn), were due to head off on their honeymoon right after the council meeting ended.
Mayor Hamilton noted Hawtin's name change at the meeting and later congratulated Bater, referring to him as "the newest member of council to join us in wedlock."
"Thank you, your Worship, I will pass that on to my wife," said Bater, who added "that's a new term I'm getting used to."
