As proceedings at the Gerald Stanley trial in Battleford begin drawing to a close, the Saskatchewan RCMP is reminding all people and parties to conduct themselves in a peaceful and civil manner regardless of the outcome. Stanley is charged with second-degree murder following the RCMP’s investigation into the death of Colten Boushie in August, 2016.

“Neighbours working together in a spirit of inclusiveness and understanding is how the people of Saskatchewan have always met our challenges,” said Assistant Commissioner Curtis Zablocki, Commanding Officer. “Engaging with each other in a respectful and responsible manner is the only way we can truly work towards building stronger, safer communities.”

The RCMP is once again reminding people that they can and will be held responsible for their communications, both in-person and online, and police will investigate any complaints of suspected criminal behaviour.
