Riders shine at car club show

Members of the Legion of Riders participated in the Battlefords Vintage Car Club's annual show and shine June 2 with seven bikes entered in various categories. The sun was out, which attracted lots of onlookers and made the day an enjoyable one.

Members of the Legion of Riders participated in the Battlefords Vintage Car Club's annual show and shine June 2 with seven bikes entered in various categories.

The sun was out, which attracted lots of onlookers and made the day an enjoyable one.

Member Kim Donahue placed first in the custom motorcycle class while Chris Miller took second. Ken Speed won the Vintage Motorcycle and Dwayne Iverson placed second.

Many visited the display where an upcoming motorcycle rally and an Trans Industrial Motorcycle Training Course being hosted in North Battleford July 27, 28 and 29 were promoted. Cost is $450 for the training course which includes motorcycles. Those who register must hold a valid motorcycle learner's licence and their own riding gear.

Road Captain Joe Huilet has been organizing Wednesday evening rides that start at the north end Tim Hortons. Be fueled and ready to roll out at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday, the Legion of Riders hosts "Bikes and Burgers" at David Laird Campground from noon to 5 p.m. Burgers and home fries are on sale for $ with proceeds going to the Veterans Unmarked Grave Project.
