The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority had a profitable year in 2011-12.

Wednesday they announced revenues of $267.2 million and a profit of $81.8 million for the fiscal year.

That is a 27 per cent increase over the previous year.

One hundred per cent of the profits from SIGA's casinos are distributed to its beneficiaries, with 50 per cent shared with the First Nation Trust which distributed to Saskatchewan First Nation communities, with 25 per cent going to Community Development Corporations situated in the communities, and 25 per cent going to the government's general revenue fund. SIGA is a non-profit corporation owned by Saskatchewan's First Nations.

The Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford is one of six casinos operated by SIGA.

SIGA credits mild weather and favourable market conditions including a strong Saskatchewan economy for increased visitation to the casinos and to the overall revenue.

Zane Hansen, president and CEO of SIGA, credited the improvements at the casinos for the strong numbers.

"The improvements to our facilities and our focus on a number of operational enhancements have improved the entertainment experience for our customers and will provide long-term sustainable returns for our beneficiaries" said Hansen.

He also noted this marked the firth straight year of net earnings above $60 million.

"I want to thank our customers for their continued patronage and thank our employees who do us proud by offering traditional First Nations hospitality which is second to none."
