The Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 to 6 a.m. Thursday, April 9. Police are seeking information into the following incidents:
Wednesday
• Report of a break and enter into a garage located on Martin Crescent. The windows had been broken and alarm did not sound. This occurred sometime overnight.
• Report of intoxicated males possibly fighting on 101st Street.
• Report of theft of sandwiches from a business in the 1700 block of 100th Street. Two youth observed on in store video hiding sandwiches in their clothing.
• Report of an abandoned van parked in a parking lot located at 102nd Street and 13th Avenue that had animal carcasses inside. Members attended to find that the van had been stolen earlier this date from an Edmonton, Alta. area business and was full of slaughtered lambs ready to be butchered. The value of the animals was estimated by the owner at $40,000.
• Several reports of a loud party in the 1800 block of 100th Street. One female was arrested and lodged as a result of police attendance and others dispersed.
Thursday
• Gas and dash from a business located on the 16 Highway bypass. A male filled a grey and burgundy pickup truck with a $100 of fuel and fled without paying.
• Complaint of a loud party in the 1100 block of 108th Street.
The public is reminded to ensure their vehicles are locked and no valuables are left within as there have been a number of “car shoppers” reported to the detachment.
The Battlefords RCMP responded to several calls of intoxicated people in public. Other investigations included one 911 Act call, two animals calls, one false alarm cal, two Mental Health Acts, one Child Welfare Act, three traffic related occurrences and four disturbing the peace/municipal bylaw related occurrences.
