The City of North Battleford is reporting there was a great response to two “spray parks” set up to respond to the recent heat wave.

In a news release, the city reports that North Battleford firefighters had set up the two pop-up splash parks using one of their ladder trucks. The first spray park took place last Wednesday at Connaught Elementary School, and the second on Friday at Bready Elementary School.

The parks were set up by the fire department with no reduction to their emergency response capacity.

People of all ages took the opportunity to use the spray parks with even the firefighters joining in, the city states.

According to their news release, the effort was such a success that the city is looking at setting up more pop-up splash parks before the end of the summer, weather permitting. People are encouraged to follow the City’s Facebook (cityofnb) and Twitter(@cityofnb) pages for announcements.
