STAR CITY — The Town of Star City is holding a byelection to fill an empty spot on council
Amber Fortier resigned as a councillor in the fall.
“We had some projects that we were right in the middle of getting completed and we just didn’t want to overwhelm a new councillor with kind of being thrown in the mix,” said Anita Tkachuk, town administrator with Star City. “That’s why council felt it was maybe better to hold off for a little bit and have a later election.”
Nominations for the position may be dropped off at the Star City town office during regular business hours until Jan. 22. On Jan. 23 they may be dropped off from 9 am to 4 pm. A criminal record check is required to accompany a nomination form.
