Thirteen alcohol-related offences reported

Battlefords RCMP responded to 120 calls between 6 a.m. Monday, March 22 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 25.

Sunday

• Received 911 call of an assault at a residence on the 1000 block of 108th Street at 6:05 p.m. A 26-year-old man was arrested and is facing one count of assault.  He was remanded into custody and made his first appearance in court March 23.

• A 38-year-old man was arrested on St. Laurent Drive and is facing two charges of failing to comply with an undertaking and obstruction. Located by patrolling members heavily intoxicated and sleeping in a hallway of an apartment building.

• Reported theft of an iPad from a residence on the Poundmaker First Nation made at 9:25 p.m. Suspect identified, matter still under investigation.

Monday

• Report of a vehicle windshield struck by an apparent stray bullet while vehicle was travelling on Territorial Drive shortly after 2 p.m. 

• Report of an attempted break and enter to a storage shed on the Saulteaux First Nation at 4:44 p.m.

• At 11:45 p.m. a complaint was made of an intoxicated man causing a scene at a residence on the 1600 block of 101st Street, banging on a door, swearing and yelling. A 28-year-old man was located and arrested and is facing three charges of failing to comply with an undertaking and of causing a disturbance.

Tuesday

• Vehicle parked on Highway 16 between 9 p.m. previous night and 6:30 a.m. had windows smashed out.

• A disturbance call received from a residence on the 1400 block of 109th Street at 731 a.m. A 24-year-old man found to be intoxicated and violating the conditions of his probation. Arrested and charged.  Made his first appearance in court March 25. 

• Report of a shoplifting incident from a business on Carlton Trail at 1:05 p.m. 

• Vehicle reported stolen from 9th Avenue at 1:25 p.m. Was recovered, abandoned a short time later in the city.

• Report made at 10:12 p.m. of a window at a residence on St. Laurent Drive being broken out. No suspects.

Police also arrested 13 persons for alcohol related offences, and responded to eight false or nuisance 911 calls, 13 disturbances reports, two bylaw complaints, six Child Welfare Act complaints, 16 traffic investigations, five reported collisions, nine alarms responded to, three Mental Health Act investigations and two reported missing persons later located.
