TISDALE — Tisdale is asking the Saskatchewan Municipal Board for the permission to borrow long term loan for creation of a sewer lift station, sewer force main and lagoon cell.
The loan is asking for $1.2 million. The total cost for the project is $3.7 million.
The town received funding for this through the small community fund. The municipality is responsible for one third of the cost of the project, while the federal government pays a third and the provincial government pays another third.
“This is our one third of the project that was announced for the provincial small community fund,” Brad Hvidston, the town’s administrator said. “One third federal, one third provincial, so that’s our one third share.”
The town expects to pay the loan back over five years. The interest rate they are asking for is prime plus one per cent..

The town passed a motion for a lease on a new 2018 Caterpillar 259D Compact Truck Loader.
“We’re just leasing a new skid steer,” Hvidston said. “Our lease came up on the old skid steer, so we’re just leasing a new one.”
