NIPAWIN — The Town of Nipawin have returned some missing trees to their proper home.
Last week the town planted 70 trees at Purple Park and by Monday, when crews went to water the new additions, staff noticed one of the trees had gone missing. The next day a second one was also discovered missing.
Chelsea Corrigan, the parks and recreation director, said the trees were eventually found discarded in a wooded area and were replanted back into their spots at the park. Corrigan is unsure if the trees will survive the ordeal.
The RCMP has been notified but Corrigan has little hope in the vandals being found. If anyone has any information, they are encouraged to contact the Nipawin RCMP.
