Two Alberta men are facing multiple charges after an eastbound vehicle was stopped by RCMP for speeding on Highway 14 east of Unity.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, the driver admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle and both he and the passenger were subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Police say the vehicle was searched and a quantity of marijuana and several oxycodone tablets were located and seized.
Two men from Eckville, Alta, aged 51 and 53, have been charged with possession of a marijuana. The 53-year old was also charged with possession oxycodone.
Both occupants have been released and will make their first court appearance in Unity on Oct. 17.
