Here are some scenes from Thursday morning, Oct. 3, at the breakfast event for the United Way at the Dekker Centre. October is the prime month for the United Way campaign for 2019, which is marking its 50th year of helping local charities in the Battlefords. The 2019 funded partners include the Food Bank, the Sexual Assault Centre, Lighthouse, Boys and Girls Club, BTEC and the Canadian Mental Health Association. At Thursday’s event, the United Way’s Sharon Mohagen urged local residents to donate one dollar for every year of the Battlefords United Way’s existence as part of their “50 for 50” campaign.
