MELFORT — An electrical short from some lights is believed to be the culprit in a recent house fire on Whitley Street in Melfort. The Melfort Fire Department responded to the call on Dec. 25 at 8:53 p.m.

HUMBOLDT — There were two break and enters on the 300 block of Humboldt’s 101st Street. The crimes took place over the weekend of Dec. 19. Entry was forced, damaging the two buildings. Items were stolen.
