MELFORT — Training for the upcoming season can resume for the Melfort Mustangs, as they have been cleared to do so by health authorities, the team announced.

HUMBOLDT — Two major donations have provided a $24,000 boost towards the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation’s mission to buy new hospital equipment.

UPDATE: An update from the provincial government said the case was actaully in a different part of the province and reassigned.

There are 14 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 30, bringing the total to 1,913 reported cases. The new cases are located in the North East (1), Saskatoon (8), Central West (1), Central East (2), and Regina (2) zones.

HUDSON BAY — The Town of Hudson Bay is mourning a huge loss to their community this week as long-serving councillor and former mayor Elvina Rumak unexpectedly died last week.

There is still a week to go for nominations to be filed but as of press time on Wednesday there are seven names running in the North Battleford council race.

CARROT RIVER — Carrot River council voted to hire Brennan Hall as the administrator in training, a role to serve as succession planning to be the next town administrator. His role will start Oct. 1.
