Battleford taxpayers could see an infrastructure levy if town council approves them at a future council meeting.

EAST CENTRAL — Cumberland College and Parkland College have selected a new joint president. Mark Hoddenbagh is starting the job on July 2.

Police located Kevin Richard Petit, 33, of North Battleford, at a house in Battleford Wednesday afternoon. Battlefords RCMP had issued a request for the public's help in locating Petit on June 13.

After making a number of phone calls to residents, Battleford Director of Finance David Gillan has recommended the Town of Battleford not go to third party collections at this time for overdue taxes.

NIPAWIN — To preserve the park for future generations, Nipawin council made Central Park and Walleye Park municipal reserves. Prior to re-designating, selling or exchanging any municipal reserve land, council must pass a bylaw.

CARROT RIVER — The Carrot River fire hall was broken into, but nothing was stolen. The break-in took place on May 29. Over that same night two local businesses were broken into, and some cash was taken.

The Sacichawasihc regional framework agreement signed last Friday by two municipal and five First Nations governments was a long time coming for Herb Sutton.

HUMBOLDT — A local retirement home is planning two expansions: one for seniors and one for children. The Elizabeth is planning to open up 11 care rooms to go along with its 29 independent living suites and build a new 49-child care centre.
