At the Battleford Legion on April 9, Tim Popp presented members of the Legion with quilts.

As of Friday the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority is accepting applications for wholesale cannabis permits as well as licensed producer registrations.

The Battlefords Boys and Girls Club has furnished its basement and developed programming for youth ages 11-14 years, creating the Husky Energy Youth Program. Husky donated funds for the programming.

TISDALE — The cowgirl drew her 0.45mm Ruger Vaqueros as she rode towards her target. Once she got in range, a loud bang reverberated. As the balloon popped, she sped to her next target.

RIDGEDALE — Thanks to its bee operation, the Ridgedale Co-op is swarming with profits this year. At its annual general meeting, the co-op revealed it made $190,000 in 2017, compared to a loss of $48,000 the previous year.

CARROT RIVER — Last year was a solid year for the Carrot River Co-op as it continues a drive to diversify. “I like what we’ve done,” said Ward Kewley, the co-op’s general manager.

TISDALE — With cannabis soon becoming legal, employers will have to learn how to deal with the substance in the workplace.

The flames and smoke at the North Battleford Waste Management Facility are put out by the fire department and the Facility will re-open again at noon.

Scammers pretending to represent SaskPower have been known to call, email and even physically visit businesses. The scammers claim that unless the resident or business submits payment on the spot, their power will be disconnected immediately.
