The Green Party has confirmed that Yvonne Potter Pihach will be their candidate in the Battlefords-Lloydminster by-election on Dec. 11. Pihach, a mother of three, is the executive secretary for the Saskatchewan Green Party.

New Democrats have turned to former amateur wrestler and professional MMA fighter Matt Fedler as their candidate in the Battlefords-Lloydminster by-election on Dec. 11. Matt was announced as the party’s candidate on Thursday night.

Once again the city is receiving provincial money to fund seven existing RCMP officers for targeted police initiatives. The provincial government is granting the city $770,000, which will fund those seven positions in 2017-18.

A Delmas man has been arrested and charged with offences related to downloading and sharing child porn over the Internet. Adam Denis Douville, 33, is charged with possession, distribution and accessing child pornography, all Criminal Code offences.

St. Brieux’s Ethan Rheaume brings valuable experience to the Junior B Carrot River Outback Thunder. Last season the son of Marc and Jackie Rheaume played for the Melfort Mustangs in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
