Looking at Oct. 6 finish date

Out on a 5.46 acre lot just outside of Nipawin, a dream of having a large multi-genre music festival is taking shape.

The race to replace Brad Wall as premier is getting more crowded. Three more names have officially announced they are in the race in recent days, while a fourth is expected to join them by the end of the week.

To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, the Melfort and District Museum reached back to the founding of their city. Melfort 1884 was celebrated on the museum grounds Aug. 26.

Being part of Communities in Bloom is more than just flowers for Melfort. Peggy George with the Melfort Communities in Bloom said that civic pride and community involvement is something judges noticed during their visit on Aug. 3.

The Canada 150 street mural project is now complete and on the road in the Fairview Heights neighbourhood in North Battleford. Several neighbourhood residents took time Saturday to paint the Canada 150th logo on the intersection of Clements Dr.

North Battleford Fire Department spent several hours responding to a grassfire east of the city on Friday.

Kindersley MLA Bill Boyd has been found in a conflict of interest and has left the Saskatchewan Party caucus. Boyd was already due to leave office as an MLA anyway on Sept. 1.
