The end of the school year is nigh, and the Medstead School Community Council has rung in the season beautifully with the annual hot dog fun lunch and celebration.

Sympathy goes out to the Parkinson families of the Battlefords and Saskatoon on the recent passing of Ruby Parkinson of Saskatoon. Ruby (Jamison) came to the Baljennie area in 1945-46 to teach for one year at the all-country Baljennie School.

Unity RCMP are reporting there has been a theft of batteries and radiators in Senlac, Saskatchewan. According to police this took place sometime overnight between June 24 and 25, 2017.

Members of administration had some news to share about Herb Sutton at last Monday night’s city council meeting. City Manager Jim Puffalt reported earlier that day Sutton received the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service.

On the green concrete among the fire trucks at the North Battleford fire hall, twenty-two students graduated from the first phase of Emergency Services Responder Training. Some of the students could be working at the hall in the near future.

A cat received medical treatment on the scene after a residential structure fire in the Riverview area early Saturday morning.
