A 61-year-old Lashburn man is facing seven theft charges after what RCMP are calling a lengthy investigation into theft of crude oil from several Northwest locations.

Issues of ethics in municipal government were front and centre at Battleford town council Monday. At Monday’s meeting council voted on a couple of items aimed at more rigorous public disclosure and code of conduct requirements.

Married and Catholic priest are words many people are not used to seeing together. Army and priest are also words not usually associated with one another.

The youth involved in the shooting incident on 110th Street Dec. 3 was handed a lengthy sentence Wednesday in North Battleford Provincial Court.

It seems Battleford is not being spared from an uptick in crime seen in other parts of the province.

Final numbers are in for fire fighting activities in 2015. The numbers were submitted Monday to council’s Planning Committee by fire chief Albert Headrick.

Town of Battleford fire chief, Larry Gabruch, gave his annual summary of the activities of the fire department during Monday’s council meeting. In general, it was a busy year for the department, but also a successful one from the chief’s standpoint.

Final building permits for 2015 are in and it was another strong year in North Battleford. A total of 126 permits were issued for a total value of $29,512,155 in 2015.

Battleford town council has approved a discretionary use application for a new retail store at the former House of Kwon location at 592 - 35th St. The applicant is All Out Graphics and Design Ltd.
