North Battleford RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in the investigation of a theft reported from a business in the city of North Battleford in the early evening of Sept. 20.

There have been a couple of incidents this past weekend at Moosomin First Nation north of the city. One was a major grass fire on the reserve Saturday evening.

"Are you kidding me?" demanded Bev Esquirol of Edam, when she was informed her lottery ticket number had been pulled for the previous purchaser draw of $10,000 Oct. 9.

Paynton Volunteer Fire Department has been busy trainingmost Wednesdays this summer and into the fall. On the weekend of Sept. 27 to 29,five of Paynton's firefighters volunteered three days to learn the finer points of the job.

Traffic was backed up on Highway 4 for several hours in Battleford early Friday morning after an incident on the Highway 16 overpass. At 4 a.m. Battlefords RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover involving a semi trailer.

There was a lockdown reported at Island Lake First Nation School last week. According to Loon Lake RCMP the incident happened Friday afternoon around 2 p.m.

The North Battleford man wanted for a violent armed robbery in Lloydminster has been apprehended. Chase Hamilton was arrested Tuesday morning, Oct. 8 in North Battleford, says the Battlefords RCMP.

More charges have been laid in a school break and enter from last Wednesday night, and this time it is two 12-year-olds who are now facing charges.
