2012 will be remembered as a historic year in the history of North Battleford, as the Credit Union CUPlex was completed.

The first instinct many will have is to say 2012 was a great year in the Battlefords, citing the completion of the Credit Union CUPlex and the twinning of Highway 4 as highlights of a year that will surely be celebrated for years to come.

2012 was an active year for emergency personnel as they responded to a number of incidents throughout the year. Among those responding were fire, EMS, police and bylaw enforcement members.

A collision between two semis near Radisson on Boxing Day caused the west bound lane of Highway 16 to be closed down from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day.

A Buick Century parked overnight Dec. 15 on the 1100 block of 99th Street was stolen. Approximately 13 vehicles were damaged in North Battleford during the night of Dec. 9. Most had their side mirrors broken off.
