My favourite entertainer (Jeffery Straker) came to our fair city recently. So, I asked a friend if she was interested in going to see him. I received a resounding "Yes!" as an answer and I was off. I invited two handfuls of friends to join us.

Ed, my neighbor next door, has been like a wet blanket lately. The stretch of wet weather we have been having has soaked into his attitude and mildewed his patience. He challenged me Sunday as I was coming home from church and into my house.

Dear Editor I just read your Thursday's column (What is the cost of life? Regional Optimist June 19) and I wholeheartedly support you in the "safety" issues that surround this fast and growing city.

If you haven't noticed the flood of emails in recent weeks asking for your consent, you probably have been in the woods and out of Internet range.

Tolerance: the ability or willingness to tolerate (put up with) something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with. There is no question that tolerance is a virtue in our society.

Now that we've had summer. What you missed it? It was a Saturday, probably May 31. Yeah the weather has been one ongoing bummer right from the first snow that fell last fall to the Summer Solstice last week.
