This past week we lost three of our bravest men. Const. David Ross, Const. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan and Const. Douglas James Larche were shot and killed in the line of duty in Moncton, NB. A 22-year-old boy took their lives.

Ed, my neighbor next door, has been in an irritable mood lately. He has been frustrated about the progress of his farming.

"That's certainly encouraging," I grumbled Friday morning as I listened to the radio. What prompted my sarcastic outburst was a story by a CBC reporter about obesity that was written around the premise that once you gain weight you're doomed.
