We only know what the media tells us to know. Sounds a little philosophical right? But it's true.

The other day I decided to conduct a bit of a social media experiment. I've done a few of these over the year, including spending several hundred dollars on Facebook advertising.

I have had a rough time of it as of late. First, there was the weekend of -50 C wind chills. Then I took my car into the repair shop and now it's sitting there waiting to get its transmission fixed.

Dear Editor I admire U.S. President Obama and all he has done for our neighbours to the south.

Sometimes there is a lot more than expected when making a choice, even a seemingly simple decision. Even as I write I'm in the process of deciding whether or not to travel south for a business meeting tomorrow morning.

Last week I started out by saying that another week has gone by and we are another week closer to spring. Well, soon it will be the middle of March and before we know it April can't come soon enough for me.

When it comes to a shady or north facing garden bed, there are few annuals that outshine tuberous begonias (Begonia x tuberhybrida) with their bright yellow, pink, scarlet, orange or white flowers. Leaf colour ranges from light to very dark green.

There's a letter this week protesting the City of North Battleford's decision to change garbage collection from communal bins to rollout bins. There seems to be some concern in the community about how efficient the system will be.
