This week my doctor removed a very tiny growth from my nose. It was tucked in the corner beside my eye and although I'm not the least bit worried about it, it was the two stitches that caused my discomfort.

The month begins with the thin crescent waning moon in the early morning sky next to Mars. New moon is Oct, 4, and the moon is full Oct. 18. In rapid succession, Mercury and Saturn Oct. 6, and Venus Oct.

Another nice week of harvest weather. I had a hoar frost rain marked for Sept. 17-18. The moon was not tipped according to father-in-law Bob Polinsky), so we got no rain, but we did get some cool weather.

This second half of summer has been great - warm days and nights, the mosquitoes all but disappeared, and I don't recall any severe storms - at least in Saskatoon and surrounding areas.

Ed, my neighbour next door, has been watching me pick up apples every day. Our one apple tree is covered with apples. It has been the first to ripen, and to shed its apples, on the ground each day.

Dear Editor I don't really know where to turn or what to do anymore because our family has reached a critical time in our lives with my brother Don, being a 45-year-old deaf quadriplegic and my parents are now in their 70s.

For all the kids who went back to school this fall, dreading it, lift your head up. There's hope. It may take 20 years, but there's hope. This past August I had the opportunity to take part in my 20-year high school reunion.

Well Humboldt, you proved it: you ARE reading the paper! As you can see from the letters to the editor, we got a bunch of feedback from last week's editorial.
