Buried deep in Monday's preliminary budget deliberations by Battleford town council was a suggestion a bylaw mandating even/odd outdoor watering days be nixed. The reasoning is the bylaw has not been enforced for a long time.

Why not celebrate in a big way? Birthdays only come around once a year. I don't generally like to spoil my children and I admit it, I love parties. My daughter has always been in small classes at school and she gets along well with everyone.

There's been a lot of discussion, both in the Journal and in the community, about the eviction of the 10 seniors from St. Mary's Villa. Somehow, some people seem to think that the 10 seniors are responsible for tarnishing the Villa's good name.

I feel compelled to comment on a recent article in the Humboldt Journal regarding former St. Mary's Villa enriched housing tenants. Saskatoon Health Region has been compared to a slum landlord, who gives a tenant one month warning before "eviction.

If you've ever organized anything - a luncheon, a party, a theatrical production, a hockey game, whatever - in Humboldt, you'll have come across a phenomenon I like to call "Last-minute Humboldt.

I would like to respond to the letter to the editor from the staff at St. Mary's Villa (Humboldt Journal, February 29). My mother was one of the seniors who was evicted (yes, evicted) from the enriched housing part of the Villa.
