Prince Albert police make arrest after a stabbing

A 30-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with a probation order.

PRINCE ALBERT — The Prince Albert Police Service arrested and charged one man with aggravated assault following a stabbing that occurred Tuesday evening.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on July 15, police were called to a business in the 200 block of 15th Street West for a weapons call. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old man outside the business with injuries that looked like stab wounds.

He was treated by Parkland Ambulance and transported to hospital for further medical care.

Through their investigation, officers were able to view video surveillance where a male suspect was observed approaching the victim, pulling something out of his waistband and allegedly assaulting the victim before fleeing on foot. Shortly after, officers were able to locate and arrest a male matching the suspect description in the 3300 block of 2nd Avenue West. Upon a search of his person, two knives were located and seized.

As a result, the 30-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with a probation order. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
