REGINA - Ryan Martin wasted no time finding out how much his Crossword Luxury instant ticket won. The Regina local scratched it in his truck, just outside the store to find that he was $250,000 richer!
“I was in my truck and started scratching the ticket letter by letter,” he explained at his prize claim interview. “I saw the barcode and thought, ‘I’ll just scan it on the app.’”
Martin purchased his $10 ticket from Rochdale Shell at 5826 Rochdale Blvd. in Regina. He walked back into the store to double-check that he won the $250,000 prize.
“I just could not believe what I was seeing in front of me,” he continued, laughing. “I was shocked, surprised and in total disbelief.”
The winner said he and his wife have a couple plans for their recent windfall.
“First and foremost, we’re going to upgrade our vehicle – we’ve wanted to do that for a while,” he said. “We’d also like to invest and pay some bills; we want to be smart about it.”
