REGINA — The Wascana Centre is seeking feedback for the final draft of its 2025 master plan.
Every 10 years, a new master plan for the area is released. The 2025 master plan is the first overseen by the Provincial Capital Commission (PCC), which took the responsibility of overseeing the area in 2017 after the Wascana Centre Authority was dissolved.
This year's drafted plan focuses on several principles, including reconciliation, placekeeping and peacekeeping, use and experience, movement, stewardship and sustainability.
The draft contains plans for ongoing, short-term, and long-term implementation.
These include Indigenous gathering spaces, strengthening the link between Regina’s downtown and Wascana Centre, and adjusting pathways, viewpoints along shorelines.
Residents can have a say on the final draft of the master plan on the Wascana Centre’s website until July 27.
After this, the PCC board of directors will review and approve the final version of the master plan.
This final version will be available to the public in November.
