REGINA — Residents who live near a home currently under investigation for a deceased person aren’t shocked by the incident.
On Monday, shortly after 8 p.m., the Regina Police Service (RPS) were dispatched to 3004 4th Avenue. Upon arrival, police located a deceased adult male.
Chris Brass, who lives across the street from the home, said this incident doesn’t surprise him.
“That house is known to be a drug spot, so it's been known to have a lot of crazy people over there.”
Brass also said he hears gunshots from that direction every other night, describing them as “fireworks.”
As a father, Brass worries for his kids' safety, but cannot move away as he’s on low income.
“Because of that, I always try to secure my house and make sure we don’t really talk to anybody.“
Oladimeji Ogunleye, who also lives across from the home, said he’s previously seen police around the residence in the last month or two.
Ogunleye said these recurring incidents make him feel unsafe, and he tries to avoid going outside his residence unless it’s necessary.
Currently, the identity of the suspect remains undisclosed, and police haven’t indicated whether there was any foul play in the matter.
SaskToday spoke to the RPS on scene and was provided with no further details.
Meanwhile, Brass suspects the incident was targeted, and drugs were a factor in the death.
