We are featuring some preserve recipes, that just might get added to your repertoire.

Pickled Beets

Cook and peel beets.  Cut into hot sterilized jars and cover with the following:

5 cups vinegar                                                             5 cups sugar

1 tbsp. pickling salt                                                    1/4 tsp cloves (whole)

Bring to a boil and pour over sliced beets, cover with sterilized seals.

*** This mixture is enough for 6 pints of beets.***
