Aime Noel Gauthier died peacefully at the Moose Mountain Lodge in Carlyle on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the age of 95 years.

Aime is survived by his loving wife, Rita and two children; his son, Raoul (Wray) and his daughter, Gisele (Robert) Carriere. Six grandchildren, Renee (Tyler) Norsten, Danielle (Mark) Hemmeke, Shawn (Carey) Carriere, Aimee (Keith Brunt) Carriere, Michelle (Bradley) Cooper, Rheanne (Warren) Delmage and eight great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Aime was born and raised in Storthoaks, Sask. At the age of 18 years he took a barber's course and worked in his father's general store in Storthoaks. He served overseas in the army for four years during the second world war. Upon returning, he took over his father's store with his brother Leonard. They expanded the business to include a barber shop, pool room, and electronic repair shop.

He married Rita Paradis in 1947 and they had two children, Raoul and Gisele.

Aime and Rita moved to Carlyle in 1973 where he worked at the Skyline until his retirement. He spent many of his retired years travelling, especially to Silver Broom competitions, loved curling, golfing, playing pool, fishing, skiing and spending time with his family. They spent many summers at their cottage at White Bear Lake Resort and also lived there for 12 years.

Aime spent the last two years living at the Moose Mountain Lodge in Carlyle. He was always seen with his shirt and tie and neatly dressed. He always had a smile that was contagious to all around him.

The funeral service was held at the Church of Our Lady on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 1 p.m. Interment at the Glen Morris Cemetery to be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to the Moose Mountain Lodge, Carlyle.

Thank you for the many expressions of sympathy shown to us. We appreciate all the phone calls, cards, lovely flower tributes, delicious food and baking, hugs and friendly visits.

Special thanks to Dr. Meyers, and all the staff at the Moose Mountain Lodge for their devoted care and attention. Your thoughtfulness and many acts of kindness are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to the honorary pallbearers, the Legion members for their ceremony, to the choir, to the ladies for a lovely lunch and to Orsted Funeral Home. We appreciate everyone's caring support during this difficult time. We feel blessed and very fortunate to live in such a caring community.
