Irene Alice Wilson(nee Fox) passed away peacefully on April 22, 2013 at Weyburn Special Care Home, Weyburn, Sask. at the age of 86 years.

Irene is survived by her daughters Joyce Wilson, Weyburn, Dixie(Dayle) Martinson of Midale and their children Tricia(Craig) Wilgenbusch, Halbrite, and Colby and Logan Martinson of Midale, Valerie(Randy) Quinn of Barrie, Ontario and their children Matthew Quinn of Hamilton and Kaitlan Quinn of Regina, two sisters, Ruth(Den) Ingram of Manor, Sask., Bernice Black of Regina and one brother, Denzil(Edna) Fox of Virden, Manitoba, two sisters-in-law, Clara Wilson of Wawota and Alice Wilson of Moosomin.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Elmer Wilson, her parents, Jasper and Grace Fox, two sisters, Muriel Banister and Hellen Pleckham and one brother, Sterling Fox.

Irene was born at the family farm near Cannington Manor on April 4th, 1927, the 4th child of seven children to Jasper and Grace Fox. She attended school at Cannington Manor and Wawota High School. Irene worked at Percy Lee's General Store in Parkman until she married Elmer on November 16th, 1948. She worked side by side with Elmer on the farm near Parkman until retiring to Wawota in 1994. Irene grew a large garden and was very involved with the Parkman Homemaker's Club, General Leader of the Wawota 4-H Homecraft Club and was an avid curler. Many summer weekends were spent at the cabin at Kenosee Lake. She enjoyed being a member of the United Church Women taking various roles in the organization, participating in the Bible Studies and celebrating with her special "Birthday Club " friends and golfing.

Dancing was a large part of Irene's life as her and Elmer enjoyed attending many country dances and later taking in dances at the "Red Barn". Travelling throughout Canada and the U.S. were highlights for them.

Irene and Elmer celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1998 and when Elmer passed away in 1999, Irene moved to Weyburn to be closer to family. After moving to Weyburn, Irene became involved in the Grace United Church Lazy Daisy Group of the UCW. She developed friendships with neighbors in the apartment building and enjoyed taking in the activities of her grandchildren. She moved to Weyburn Special Care Home in 2009 and resided there until her passing.

Irene will be remembered for her sweet nature, generosity, faithfulness and caring and fun character. A celebration of Irene's life was held at Wawota United Church in Wawota, Sask. at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th with Pastor Cicely McDougall officiating. The Interment took place at Wawota Cemetery, Wawota Saskatchewan.
