Memorial service for Leonard Howard Lausch, late of Carlyle, was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13 from the Carlyle United Church with Rev. Sung Shim officiating. Leonard passed away at the Regina General Hospital, Regina on Sunday, April 7 at the age of 76 years.

Leonard was born August 11, 1936 to Herman & Natalie Lausch. He had two older brothers, Edwin and Arthur, and a younger brother Robert who died in infancy, leaving Len the baby of the family. Len attended Wilberforce School and then Lampman. After his schooling, he held various jobs, including building construction and drilling rigs. Around 1960 Len moved to Regina where he worked in car dealerships, eventually ending at Percival Mercury. In 1966 Len met the love of his life, Joyce Strelau. Len and Joyce were married in Joyce's hometown of Canwood, Sask., in October 1967. After they were married they moved to Lampman where Len worked at the Steelman Gas Plant. After a year they moved to Carnduff where Len started his long career with Producers Pipelines. After three years in Carnduff they transferred and moved to Carlyle in 1974 where they still continue to call home. Len both enjoyed and was proud of his career. Len worked for Producers Pipelines, now Enbridge for 36 years. His pride and joy was working at the Willmar Terminal. Around 10 years ago, Len had cochlear inplant surgery in Edmonton. Although his hearing improved, Len preferred being in small groups. Because of his hearing, Len's interests were quite passive. He enjoyed reading all the papers and watching the evening news. He enjoyed puttering in the yard and their vegetable garden. He loved watching sports, especially football. Len had a deep Christian faith. His Faith only grew stronger and he rarely missed church.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife Joyce; sisters-in-law, Audrey Lausch, Nelda Arnst, Ruth Wagner, Rita (Bill) Osborne; brothers-in-law, Lyn & Kurt Strelau; special people, Darren (Donna) & Brittney Howell; aunts, Doris Sernie, Erna Greenfield; uncle, Butch Williams; special nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Herman & Natalie; brothers Edwin & Arthur; sister-in-law Audrey Harrison; nephew Brian Lausch; father & mother-in-law Karl & Laura Strelau; brothers-in-law Harold Wagner & Ron Arnst.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Len may be made to the Carlyle United Church or Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation.
